About this event
In 1979 the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Convention on the Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW). Described as an international bill of rights for women, it was instituted on September 3, 1981 and has been ratified by 189 countries, but not the United States. Join us to learn about what CEDAW is, what it includes, why the US hasn’t yet signed on, and what efforts are in place around the country to bring it more public awareness.
Presenter: Nancy Brown, Co-President, LWV Wichita Metro
The program starts promptly at 6 pm
Tuesday Topics is a partnership event between the Wichita Public Library and the League of Women Voters of Wichita Metro.
